Jergens goes au naturale
Let’s hear it for Jergens, as they unveil their new collection of natural body moisturisers in the UK. While the bodycare brand has been softening the skin of American’s for years, to mark their launch in the UK market Jergens have formulated a new collection of body creams using at least 95% natural ingredients.
The Jergens Naturals collection has been created by scientists using plant-derived ingredients including pomegranate, shea butter, aloe, olive oil and avocado, and while they do contain a small amount of preservatives to maintain the performance of so many natural ingredients, they are completely free from parabens.
What’s even more impressive however is that to keep carbon miles low, the UK collection will be brewed and bottled on British soil to minimise ecological impacts, “ensuring that Jergens Naturals products can deliver effective, ecologically responsible, natural products to women everywhere,” say the Jergens spokespeople.
The collection comprises four body moisturisers targeting different skin types: Ultra Hydrating to quench the thirst of dry skin, Extra Softening to smooth and calm roughed up bods, Skin Firming to maintain elasticity and combat cellulite, and Age Defying to stimulate and energise more mature skin.
The moisturisers are easy to apply, rich without being greasy, and smell gorgeous! They soak into the skin easily without leaving a residue and while you might expect them to be thicker in texture; they really do take effect quickly, leaving the skin soft and smooth. Available at large chemists and leading supermarkets, the whole collection comes in large 200ml bottles, while the Ultra Hydrating and Extra Softening are available in a handy 75ml travel bottle. Perfect for popping in handbags and moisturising on the move.
